London is set for heaving thunderstorms as the Met Office forecasts torrential downpours with the risk of hail and frequent lightning in parts of London this afternoon.
Londoners are likely be to be affected by flash flooding whilst lightning disrupts power supplies amid the Met Office warning that some parts of London will see as much as 30-40mm of rain in an hour.
The Met Office has also predicted more severe thunderstorms across the south tomorrow morning.
The warning comes after Londoners have enjoyed the hottest September day since 1911 as the heatwave caused mercury to rise to 34.4C in Gravesend in Kent on Tuesday.
